Akasa Air completes one year of operations, dubbed fastest growing airline in global aviation

Akasa Air celebrated a significant milestone with one year of successful commercial operations in the Indian aviation.

In a span of just one year, Akasa Air added its 20th aircraft a Boeing 737-8-200 variant of the Boeing 737 MAX becoming the first Asian airline to add the next-gen model to its fleet. With the arrival of its 20th aircraft the airline plans to spread its wings to international market starting December 2023.

The airline currently has 76 aircraft on order, including 23 737-8s and 53 737-8-200. Going ahead the airline is planning to place a huge three-digit aircraft order, according to sources.

In the first year of commercial operations, Akasa air has carried over 4.3 million passengers and operating more than 900 weekly flights across 35 unique routes covering 16 destinations becoming one of the fastest-growing airlines in global aviation history.

The airline's market share has surged from 0 to 4.9 per cent, with a passenger load factor of over 84% and counting.

Akasa Air boasts of having one of the youngest and most eco-friendly fleets in the world that includes not just fuel-efficient aircraft but incorporating eco-friendly practices throughout its operations like use of recycled materials and sustainable packaging for inflight meals.
