AJW Aviation appoints new CCO

AJW Aviation has appointed Daniel Watson to the role of chief commercial officer (CCO) as the organisation identifies a new executive team to lead the growth and development of the business worldwide. He will be responsible for: AJW’s PBH programme, sales, commercial tenders/proposals and key account management. Watson will work across the AJW customer base developing relationships with key airlines as they implement the Group’s new services.

With a strong background in organisational leadership, strategy, business development, finance, manufacturing and operations, Watson has extensive international experience.  He has enjoyed an outstanding sixteen year career with MTU Maintenance and MTU Aero Engines, leading management teams and wide-ranging projects throughout the US, Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Asia. Most recently, since 2010, Watson has been VP & Chief Commercial Officer for MTU Maintenance Canada, where he piloted the division to become the benchmark MRO operation within the organisation for profitability, customer satisfaction and employee motivation. He was also responsible for the capture and management of contracts and programmes worth several billions of USD covering aircraft and engine components, leasing and engine MRO for commercial and military aircraft. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant with an MBA and a respected industry adviser.

Watson will report directly to Boris Wolstenholme, CEO of AJW Aviation and will work closely with president Christopher Whiteside and the executive management team. He joins the organisation on April 11 and will be based at AJW’s corporate headquarters in the UK.
