Airports of Thailand is planning to invest $1.08 bn to expand the terminal at Bangkok’s Don Meuang Airport (DMK). This announcement for expansion comes in the wake of increasing passenger demand and emerging new start-up airlines in Southeast Asia.

The construction of the new terminal will commence this year and is expected to be completed by 2029. With this expansion the capacity of DMK airport will increase from 30 million to 40 million per annum.

The project will include the development of the airport’s northern side, including renovation of aircraft parking bays and expansion of the northern concourse as well as offices and VIP lounges along with 12 aircraft parking stands and 11 jet bridges.
