AIR New Zealand has stated that it expects normalised earnings before tax for 2013 to be at the upper end of the $NZ235 million to $NZ260m ($197m to $218m) range it announced in April.
That would dwarf the previous year's $NZ91m figure.
"The company has continued to perform soundly in stable market conditions," Air New Zealand said.
Meanwhile, Air New Zealand has reached a settlement with New Zealand's competition regulator, the Commerce Commission, over proceedings alleging an agreement between a number of airlines in relation to fuel and security surcharges for air cargo.
The settlement is subject to court approval and a decision is expected within a few weeks.
