Airlines to fly more seats in holiday season

Recent analysis from Cirium has predicted that airlines will see more seats flying in the December holiday season in comparison to the same period in 2022. Based on the analysis, Cirium said intra-European travel will see a rise of 10% and the US will similarly see a rise of 8% compared to 2022.

The data is sourced by Cirium’s Diio Mi Schedules Tool, which is often used by the aviation industry to analyse airline schedules for more than 1,300 airlines worldwide.

Furthermore, US airlines predict higher demand for sunnier destinations in the holiday season. Seats flown from the US to the Caribbean will increase by 18% in 2023 compared to 2022, and domestic US flights to Florida are set to increase by 14%.
