Airline Economics, the flagship publication dedicated to the commercial aviation finance and leasing industry owned by Aviation News Ltd, has announced the winners of its tenth anniversary Aviation 100 awards.
“As 2020 was such an unique year for the entire aviation industry, this year’s results were judged with an eye to the performance of the company and/or individuals that have excelled despite the extreme pressures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on air travel. Specifically, all of the award winners have impressed by their ability to raise liquidity, the treatment of their staff and customers during the pandemic, as well as their strategic planning and ability to adapt to the constantly changing operating environment,” says Victoria Tozer-Pennington, editor and co-founder of Airline Economics.
The past year has been the most challenging in the history of aviation. All market participants – airlines, lessors, banks, law firms, MROs and other suppliers including Airline Economics – have been required to adapt rapidly to a changed operating environment. As a result, Airline Economics Growth Frontiers Dublin conference, usually held every January, went fully virtual for the first time and the annual Aviation 100 Global Leaders awards gala dinner was postponed. We had hoped to hold the event in May at a rescheduled live Dublin conference and exhibition but again this will not be possible so the live event is now scheduled for September where we will present the award winners with their trophies. But we didn’t want to wait that long to celebrate the achievements of the industry in 2020, where the successes of the foremost companies and individuals shone even more brightly in such a stressful environment.
In the latest issue of Airline Economics magazine, Issue 60, we celebrate the top 100 companies and individuals in the aviation industry based on our annual industry survey of the 10 categories – airline, aircraft, lessor, bank, law firm, appraiser, MRO, parts supplier, CEO/Industry Leaders and CFO/Treasury Teams. Aside from the top ranking Global Leaders, we also highlight the regional leaders in the relevant categories, incorporating the European, Americas, Asia-Pacific and Middle East North Africa awards. The Face of Aviationis also announced in this issue.
The Airline Economics Aviation 100 Deals of the Year 2021 award winners, will be announced in the next issue of Airline Economicsmagazine (Issue 61).
Congratulations to all Airline Economics Aviation 100 award winners. The Airline Economics team looks forward to celebrating with them all in person when the recovery is well under way.
