The credit card company E-Clear, which went bust over a year ago, is facing further legal action from administrators who want to recover some of the £127 million it owes to creditors.
E-Clear processed millions of pounds in payments for collapsed travel firm Globespan, operator of Flyglobespan airline, as well as managing transactions for XL Leisure, which collapsed in 2008, SkyEurope, which went bankrupt in 2009, and Zoom Airlines, which went under in 2008.
Administrators, BDO, have filed a claim in the High Court against E-Clear's director Elias Elia, 41, seeking to claim £4.3 million they say is owing to the company. Elia denies any wrongdoing and is contesting the claim.
