Aircraft lessor Genesis announces new CEO

Dublin-based aircraft lessor Genesis has appointed of Karl Griffin as its new chief executive officer, a newly created role for the company.

Griffin joined the company in May 2018 as Genesis’ chief commercial & investment officer. He was hired to help expand Genesis’ leasing platform including all commercial, technical, portfolio and legal management functions required of a full-service premier owner and lessor of commercial aircraft.

“Karl has been instrumental in building out Genesis’ aircraft leasing business over the past 12 months. He has demonstrated to our Board, and to the firm’s employees, his excellent leadership skills and knowledge of the aircraft leasing market,” said Tom Juterbock, Genesis’ chairman of the board and head of infrastructure investments at Barings.

“Since 2014, Genesis has grown into a full service leasing company. We’re very proud of the entire team at Genesis and fully support Karl as he leads the team during its next phase of growth.”

Prior to Genesis, Griffin was the chief operating officer at aircraft leasing firm DAE Capital and has held leadership roles across the global aviation industry including Virgin Express, RBS Aviation Capital, AWAS and Shannon Aerospace throughout his 30 year career.
