Airbus has announced the temporary suspension of production and assembly operations at its plants in France and Spain, which the airframe maker attributed to government measures in both countries to contain Covid 19.
In a statement Airbus said it was implementing a temporary pause to production at its plants in both countries for four days to enable it implement changes to its working practices.
“Airbus has decided to temporarily pause production and assembly activities at its French and Spanish sites across the Company for the next four days,” the firm said in a statement.
”This will allow sufficient time to implement stringent health and safety conditions in terms of hygiene, cleaning and self-distancing, while improving the efficiency of operations under the new working conditions. In those countries [Airbus]will also continue to maximise homeworking wherever possible,” it added.
