Airbus reduces wing production capacity in UK and Germany

Shortly after announcing that its facilities in Spain and France had returned to operations airframe maker Airbus has announced that it is reducing wing production in the UK and Germany.

Production at plants. In France and Spain partially resumed production and assembly work on Monday, following a four day pause as Airbus adapted to new safety regulations related to Covid19.

And while production continued at the firm’s UK, German and the US plants Airbus is introducing temporary reductions in production levels.

Wing plants in the UK and in Bremen, Germany, will go onto lower production levels for the next three weeks in order for Airbus to balance its stock levels.

“The sites will remain open during this period and will continue to ensure wing deliveries to the final assembly lines, the receipt and control of materials and components from the supply chain, building and installation maintenance, critical administrative support and preparation for activity restart. Employees will continue to perform activities remotely via home-working where their activities are not directly related to the production activity being adapted, “said Airbus in a statement.
