Airbus Helicopters introduced its H140 helicopter at the VERTICON industry show in Dallas, Texas. The aircraft is a light, twin-engine, complementing Airbus' current light twin offering for the emergency medical services, passenger transport, and private and business aviation markets.
“We worked hand in hand with our H135 customers to bring their additional requirements together in the H140’s efficient design,” said Airbus Helicopters CEO Bruno Even. “It enables customers to benefit from a bigger mission-enhancing cabin space that was sized to an optimised engine performance for the best-in-class payload and range.”
Global Medical Response (GMR) and Airbus Helicopters have signed an agreement for up to 15 H140 helicopters in the emergency medical services (EMS) sector. 10 are firm with options for five more.
In addition, ADAC Luftrettung and OAMTC Flugrettung signed for the purchase of 10 of the new helicopters.
The new H140 is expected to enter service in 2028.
