Airbus inks MoU with Nordic aviation partners to examine European airport hydrogen infrastructure
Airbus has signed a memorandum of understand (MoU) with Avinor, SAS, Swedavia, and Vattenfall to examine hydrogen infrastructure for over 50 airports in Norway and Sweden. The partnered companies will look at hydrogen aircraft concepts as well as hydrogen-related operations, supply, infrastructures and refuelling needs at airports. ""Hydrogen stands out as a key enabler as we pioneer a sustainable aviation future,"" said Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury. ""Norway and Sweden are among the most demanding regions for aviation and have great potential for hydrogen production from renewable energy sources."" In 2020, Airbus had unveiled its first hydrogen-powered commercial aircraft, the ZEROe, and is aiming to bring it to market in 2035.
