Airbus delivers 60 aircraft to 38 customers in October 2022

Airbus delivered 60 aircraft to 38 customers in October 2022, taking the total deliveries this year to 495. With about 55 deliveries last month, Airbus remains optimistic about achieving its goal of 700 deliveries at the end of 2022.

October 2022 deliveries include one A220-100, four A220-300, 21 A320neo, 26 A321neo, one A330-300, two A330neo, four A350-900, and one A350-1000. STARLUX received its first-ever Airbus A350-900 and became the latest global operator of the aircraft type. Air China received one A350-900 bringing the total aircraft type to 20. China Eastern received a new Airbus A320neo while Delta Air Lines received a new A321neo.

Airbus also won 177 new aircraft orders in October with the bulk order coming from International Airlines Group (IAG) with firm orders for 31 A320neos and 28 A321neos and Xiamen Airlines ordered 25 A320neos and 15 A321neos.

Other significant orders were from Air Canada with 15 A220-300, Jet2 with 35 A320neos, and 28 A321neos to an undisclosed customer. With 14 canceled orders, Airbus reported delivering 495 aircraft to 72 customers this year.

Going ahead, in order to achieve a target of 700 deliveries by year-end, Airbus need to deliver 205 aircraft in the next two months. Airbus remains optimistic about achieving this goal, Chief Executive Officer Guillaume Faury recently said: “Airbus is hopeful of achieving its objective, especially since we are currently receiving a steady supply of engines. Airbus has experienced a similar backlog during the year-end production in 2018, but the objectives we met,” he concluded.
