Airbus delivered 62 aircraft to 37 customers in October 2024. It marks an uptick from September and August deliveries - 50 and 47, respectively - and not quite reaching the highs of summer with 70 in July and 67 in June.
Moreover, it brings the total deliveries year-to-date up to 559 aircraft. This means that Airbus will have to deliver 211 aircraft in the remaining months of the year to meet its 770 full year target.
A person familiar with the matter had previously confirmed to Airline Economics - following a report from Bloomberg in early October that the company was modelling for 750 deliveries - that the company is still maintaining its 770 target. The company later confirmed in its nine month results that this target remained in place.
October deliveries included 48 A320neo family aircraft - including its first A321XLR delivery to Iberia.
The company recorded 82 orders during the month, with net orders for the year totalling 730. This includes the recent Riyadh Air order for 60 A321neo aircraft, as well as one ordered by American Airlines at the start of the month. Five A320neo family aircraft were ordered by Druk Air. In addition, the company recorded five A320neo aircraft ordered on October 21, followed by an order for 10 of the same aircraft a few days later by an undisclosed customer. One A320neo was ordered by a private customer at the end of the month.
