Airbus cuts 2022 aircraft delivery target

Airbus delivered 68 commercial aircraft in November, it confirmed on December 6, which meant it would fall short of its target of "around 700" deliveries in 2022.

A "complex operating environment" meant the manufacturer had delivered 565 aircraft during the first 11 months of the year. Ahead of full-year results being announced in February, Airbus said that it "remains committed to delivering its financial guidance as provided at the Nine-Month 2022 results, meaning guidance for EBIT Adjusted and Free Cash Flow before M&A and Customer Financing remains unchanged".

In turn it said it "will be adjusting the speed of the A320 Family ramp-up to rate 65 for 2023 and 2024" before aiming to hit 75 a year in 2025.

It said it has a backlog of 7,344 aircraft after taking 29 new orders in November.
