AirAsia Bhd has wet leased two Airbus A330 widebody aircraft from Indonesia AirAsia X, which is owned by AirAsia X Bhd and PT Kirana Anugerah Perkasa. One will be leased between September 16, 2016 until March 15, 2017 for US$12.9 million, with the other leased from October 1, 2016 until November 30, 2016 for US$3.1 million.

The extra capacity will allow AirAsia to rationalise its network by reducing flight frequencies and overcome slot constraints in some airports.
