AirAsia paid staff on time

AirAsia X CEO Azran Osman-Rani has confirmed that staff salaries were paid as usual last month despite reports that there would be a delay. The confusion occurred due to a staff email sent by management warning staff that salaries could be paid late due to expected funds being late. However that delay in funds being paid to the airline never happened and salaries were paid on time.

“We were anticipating arrival of funds to be late, which in turned was paid much earlier than expected,” said Osman-Rani. “No salaries were delayed and the news were just quoting on little bits and pieces of the circular as well as taking anonymous sources which shows an unclear reflection of the situation.”

Azran did admit to media that the carrier was feeling the pressure from stiff competition and also high jet fuel prices. The airline will announce its quarterly results tomorrow, when Azran will also outline plans for 2015. “We’re confident the initiatives implemented this quarter would strengthen the balance sheet of the company,” he said.
