AirAsia Bhd is reported to be discussing the creation of a partner airline to serve Myanmar. Speaking to Reuters, Tony Fernades, said that he expects AirAsia's Vietnam joint venture to be flying by October, leaving the way clear for the brand to establish a presence in Myanmar.
"Once you've covered Vietnam and Myanmar, you've got all the big (Southeast Asian) populations," Fernandes added that the airline would be small due to the lack of airport infrastructure in the region but it has the potential to develop over time, he said.
