Air Zim resumes flights; acquires second ERJ145

Air Zimbabwe has acquired a second ERJ145 aircraft after the government released funds.

Air Zimbabwe has resumed domestic flights using the ERJ145 aircraft, on a four times a week schedule on the triangular route between Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls.

The carrier had suspended flights since January last year due to operational problems and the clampdown on intercity movement under Covid-19 lockdown regulations.

Air Zimbabwe spokesperson Firstme Vitori said that this second aircraft will allow the airline to add more regional and international routes with fleet commonality.

The airline is planning to introduce a Beijing route as its first intercontinental route but Vitori said that can only happen when the airline has a strong domestic network in place.

Air Zimbabwe also has two 777-200 Extended Range (ER) and a 767.
