Air Zim expects return of aircraft seized at Gatwick

Air Zimbabwe has stated it expects the 767-200ER aircraft, which was impounded by spares supplier American General Supplies at Gatwick International Airport due to the non-payment of $1.2 million debt, to be released today.

The airline’s acting chief executive officer Innocent Mavhunga confirmed that the required funds deposited into American General Supplies account will show today.

"The money has been deposited and we expect it to reflect today and we hope our plane will depart tomorrow evening (today) and land in the country on Tuesday morning.

"Everything is settled for now, but you would never know with the publicity the case has developed, other complications might develop.

"It is our hope that nothing will arise and our plane flies back,"

Mavhunga said.
