Air Tahiti Nui resumes direct service to Cook Islands

Air Tahiti has resumed its direct services to Cook Island connecting Papeete and Rarotonga, aiding accessible transit between the two countries. Air Tahiti will deploy its ATR42-600 on the route on Saturdays and ATR72-600 on Sundays.

Air Tahiti previously served the Cook Islands between 2007 and 2020, prior to pandemic. With this service, the airline will add an extra 125 seats on the route.

Air Rarotonga (GZ) serves this route once weekly on Wednesdays with its Saab 340B.

"We are delighted to welcome the recommencement of Air Tahiti flights between Papeete and Rarotonga. This airline provides additional access to the Cook Islands and signifies another important step towards the recovery of our tourism industry,” commented Karla Eggleton, chief executive of Cook Island Tourism as reported by Cook Island Travel.
