Flag carrier Air Serbia said it flew 2.76 million passengers in 2022, a 73% increase on 2021 and representing a load factor average of 72%.
The passengers were carried on over 31,400 flights, a 60% annual increase and based in part on the additions of seven new jets, including a second widebody, and 15 destinations.
Cargo carriage was up 30% to 5,000 tonnes, Air Serbia reported on January 19, a day after announcing a 21-million-euros profit for the year.
"In terms of the number of passengers carried, we are only two percentage points away from the record-breaking pre-pandemic year of 2019," said Jiří Marek, chief executive of the decade-old airline.
