Air Samarkand expands route network

Uzbekistan airline Air Samarkand has launched new services to Tbilisi and Batumi in Georgia, and to Baku in Azerbaijan, while also increasing scheduled operations to the Turkish capital of Istanbul and Israel capital Tel Aviv.

“These latest routes will support growing customer demand for new and enhanced services on our Air Samarkand route network,” said Air Samarkand CEO Zafar Butayev. “All provide connections where we have seen rising demand or identified clear opportunities to establish new routes for tourist, pilgrim and business travellers. We are meeting increased for convenient and competitive direct services to link our historic city of Samarkand and Tashkent with important neighbouring markets and destinations further afield.”

The Tbilisi route launched on May 18 and and the Batumi route will launch on May 24. From June, the Tbilisi route will increase to twice a week and Batumi to three times per week.

Baku flights will start from June — once per week from Samarkand and twice per week from Tashkent.

From May 26, the Istanbul route will increase from three to five times per week. The Tel Aviv route currently operates once per week and will increase to twice per week from July 3.

The new services will be operated by its A330, A321, and A321neo aircraft.
