Air Nostrum has taken delivery of its first CRJ1000 100-seat regional aircraft. It was supposed to receive the aircraft in late 2009 but recurrent problems with its avionics software postponed the first delivery.
Miguel Falcon, managing director of the airline said: “It [the delay] was bad news for us because you had planned to replace older aircraft and then you had to extend the life of those planes. And that has an economic impact.”
He added: “But (delays are) part of the game in a way… At least it’s not like the (Airbus) 380 and (Boeing) 787,” both of which suffered delays of several years.
