All nine aircraft are equipped with CFM LEAP-1A engines and are part of CALC's existing orderbook. ""Our collaboration with CALC has been instrumental in accelerating our fleet modernisation programme, which is a cornerstone of Air India's global growth strategy,"" said Air India chief commercial officer Nipun Aggarwal. CALC president and chief commercial officer Winnie Liu commented: ""As the aviation market in the region experiences swift growth, we are excited to contribute to enhancing Air India's fleet, thus reinforcing its position as a premier global airline."" Last year, Air India made a firm order for 220 Boeing and 250 Airbus aircraft worth approximately $70bn at list price as the Tata-owned airline aims to renew its fleet and network.
