Air India secures codeshare agreement with Icelandair, expands partnership with Air Mauritius

Air India has entered into a codeshare agreement with Icelandair, as well as expanding its partnership with Air Mauritius. 

Under the codeshare agreement with Icelandair, Air India's customers will gain access to Icelandair-operated flights to Reykjavik via Air India's European gateways. Air India will add its designator code on Icelandair-operated flights between Reykjavik and London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Milan, and Zurich. 

Icelandair customers will also benefit from connections on Air India-operated flights to key Indian cities. Icelandair will add its code on Air India-operated flights between Delhi and Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, and between Mumbai and Frankfurt, as well as London Heathrow. 

“By combining our strengths, we are creating a seamless bridge between India's vibrant destinations and Iceland's extraordinary landscapes,” said Air India CEO & managing director Campbell Wilson. “This partnership underscores Air India's ambition to expand our global reach.”

Icelandair CEO and president Bogi Nils Bogason added: “We have and will continue to expand our network of partner airlines, focusing on working with airlines like Air India that offer great service and connectivity.”

Air India's expanded partnership with Air Mauritius will place their codes on a total of routes between India, Mauritius, Reunion, South Africa, and Madagascar. 

Air India will place its code on Air Mauritius flights to and from Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa, and Antananarivo in Madagascar. Air India already codeshares on Air Mauritius flights between Mauritius and Mumbai, Delhi and Reunion. 

As part of the enhanced codeshare, Air Mauritius will place its code on Air India flights between Mauritius and Mumbai. The airline currently places its code on Air India flights between Mumbai and Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Goa, Delhi and Bengaluru, Chennai. 

These agreements were signed at the 81st IATA annual general meeting, held in New Delhi.
