Air India revises salary structure in sync with new industry standards

Air India recently revised its salary structure in sync with the new industry standards offering a 20% hike to cabin crew. The airline has also introduced new layers of ranking among pilots and provided a roadmap for career progression as a part of the airline revamp.

The airlike has offered a 20% hike to cabin crew, as per the new structure, a trainee crew member can get a monthly stipend of around $304 and $426. Following the training, a cabin crew member will receive a monthly pay of $646 with senior cabin crew receiving $780 monthly. The salary increases further for executive cabin crew, who will receive $951 per month.

A senior pilot in Air India can expect to earn as much as $122,000 a year while a trainee pilot is offered a start salary of $609. A first officer is offered $4,207 per month, while a captain’s revised salary now stands at $5,792. An internally upgraded captain can take home a monthly compensation of $9,146 while a senior captain can earn up to $10,365 per month.

Commanders and senior commanders will also receive a monthly widebody allowance of $914 while other categories of pilots will receive $304 per month. Domestic layover allowance for commanders and senior commanders is $26 per night while it is $19 per night for others.

Compensation for Air India cabin crew will also include flying allowances for domestic and international layovers on top of airport standby and check crew allowances.
