Air India has reinstated its codeshare agreement with fellow Star Alliance carrier Air Canada, offering more flight options between their respective countries.
Effective December 2, 2026, the agreement enables Air India to offer its customers convenient access to six points across Canada beyond its gateways at Vancouver and London Heathrow.
It allows Air India to place its ‘AI’ designator code on Air Canada-operated flights from Vancouver to Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montreal, and Halifax, as well as London Heathrow to Vancouver and Calgary.
Air Canada customers will benefit from domestic India connectivity to Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Kochi via Delhi, and to Delhi and and Mumbai via London Heathrow.
“More than 2 million people travel between India and Canada every year, as families reunite, students pursue their dreams, and businesses build for tomorrow,” said Air India CEO and managing director Campbell Wilson.
Additionally, Air India has increased its frequencies to Bali, Manila, and Kuala Lumpur via Delhi for its winter schedule.
The airline will operate three additional weekly flights between Delhi and Bali — an increase from seven to 10 flights per week.
Frequencies to Manila will increase from five to seven flights per week.
Three additional flights will be added to Kuala Lumpur on weekends.
