Air India is all set to resume its popular routes to Copenhagen, Milan, and Vienna to increase its international coverage. The airline plans to resume its popular Delhi- Copenhagen route thrice weekly from March 2023, strengthening the trade and tourism ties between Denmark and India.
Welcoming the decision, Thomas Woldbye, Group CEO at Copenhagen Airport, said: “The Delhi-CPH route will strengthen our position as Northern Europe’s most important traffic hub and provide lots of new opportunities for business and holidays in Asia. In addition, travelers from Copenhagen will be able to fly via Delhi to many destinations in India and the rest of Asia.”
This expansion comes as the airline continues to make progress in augmenting its fleet with newly leased aircraft, and the return of existing aircraft to active service," the airline said in a release.
Air India will start daily Mumbai-New York service from February 2023, which will add to the current daily service from Delhi to John F. Kennedy International Airport and its four weekly flights to Newark Liberty Airport, bringing the carrier's frequency between India and the US to 47 non-stop flights per week.
“A key element of our five-year transformation plan, Vihaan.AI, is to strengthen India’s global network, connecting India’s major cities with even more destinations,” CEO and MD, Air India, Campbell Wilson mentioned in a statement.
The airline also plans to add four additional weekly flights on the Delhi-Milan and Delhi-Vienna routes starting February 2022.
Additionally, the airline has scheduled four additional weekly flights on the route between Mumbai and Frankfurt as well as three additional weekly flights on the Mumbai-Paris route.
