Air India has issued a RFP to Indian companies to insure its 105-aircraft fleet, which is worth US$9bn. The Finance Ministry has confirmed that there will be no purchase preference support given to public sector insurance companies.
The process has begun now in order to firm up the companies which would provide the insurance cover for the fleet which is due for renewal from October 1.
