Korean cargo airline Air Incheon has rebranded as Air Zera after acquiring Asiana Airlines' cargo business, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing on August 1, 2025.
This finalises the $338 million deal that received board approval in November 2023. Air Incheon was then selected as the preferred bidder for the cargo division in June 2024.
Air Zeta CEO Kwan-sik Kim said during the launch ceremony, according to local media, that the company's goal is to become a leading air logistics platform, offering more competitive services and optimised solutions.
Local media also reported that Korean antitrust agency the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) had fined Asiana Airlines 12.1bn won ($8.71 million) for exceeding fare increase limits set by regulatory authorities after its merger with Korean Air Lines.
As part of the merger approval, average ticket prices were conditioned not to increase beyond the inflation rate compared to 2019. This was done to prevent excessive fare hikes. This condition applies until the end of 2034.
