Air France-KLM considers bond issue

Air France-KLM is considering issuing a Euro-denominated bond issuance. The airline has mandated HSBC and Natixis as global coordinators, with ING and Société Générale CIB as active bookrunners. A general investor conference call is set for today.

During the first quarter 2014, Air France-KLM narrowed its first-quarter loss, with the operating loss decreasing to €445 million ($614 million) from €532 million a year earlier. Sales dropped by 2.2% to €5.55 billion mainly due to the timing of Easter. The airline states that it is on target to achieve EBITA of €2.5bn for 2014. Its net debt was €5.54 billion as of March 31, compared with €5.35 billion at the end of 2013.
