A French court has ruled that Air France and Airbus will stand trial for “involuntary manslaughter” over the crash of Air France Flight 447, an A330, in 2009 that killed all 228 people on board. The ruling came after a French appeals court overturned a previous decision not to continue with the charges.
Flight 447 crashed into the Atlantic en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris on June 1 2009 after the aircraft stalled during a thunderstorm.
A date for the trial has not yet been set, according to reports.
