Air China passengers surge in June
Air China carried 12.5 million passengers in June, climbing 13.5% over the same period last year. Domestically, its passengers climbed 5.9% to 10.8 million, while its international passenger numbers more than doubled to 1.4 million passengers in the month. Its regional passenger numbers were up 45.2% over last year's June period to nearly 400,000. Passenger load factor jumped 7.3 percentage points, reaching 80% in the month. Its cargo load factor was up 8.5 percentage points to 44.3%. The flag carrier also reported its capacity - measured in available seat kilometres (ASK) - in June 2024 was up 11.4% over last year to 28.7bn. Its capacity increase was largely driven by its international capacity increasing 85.1%, while its domestic capacity was down 4.3%. Air China's revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) was up 22.6% to 2.4bn. Its domestic RPKs were up 5.5% to 1.6bn, while its international RPKs had nearly doubled to 800.4 million.
