HNA Group launched Air Changan, the new passenger carrier based in Xi’an, which has been created from the ashes of Chang An Airlines that was later merged with Hainan Airlines. Air Changan launched services yesterday from Xi’an Xianyang International Airport to the port city of Zhuhai, in southern China’s Guangdong province.
Air Changan will initially operate a fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft on domestic routes to Zhuhai and Haikou, before gradually expanding to other Chinese cities.
