AIR CANADA LEASE FOR TORONTO ISLAND AIRPORT IN DOUBT

Air Canada has failed to reach an agreement with City Centre Terminal over terminal space in Toronto island airport. The airport company is owned by Robert Deluce, head of rival Porter Airlines.

Air Canada has confirmed it is working on securing a deal with the company and a spokesperson said it was looking “forward to resuming service at the island airport and serving our customers who have been looking forward to that event with anticipation."

The airline plans to offer up to 15 daily flights from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport to Montreal's Trudeau International Airport – a route that will compete directly with regional carrier Porter Airlines.
