Air Canada is all set to add four new destinations as a part of its winter Sun schedule apart from expanding capacity to US, Mexico and Caribbean destinations. The addition will be 11% more than the airline’s 2022 Winter Sun Schedule and 8% above its 2019 schedule.
The carrier has planned four new routes, split equally between their Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) hubs and Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport (YUL). On the one hand, Toronto will be connected to Monterrey in Mexico and Fort De France in Martinique. On the other hand, Montreal will be connected to Los Cabos in Mexico and La Romana in the Dominican Republic.
The Toronto- Monterrey route will commence from October 29, a year-round service, operating four days a week. The airline will deploy its 137-seater A220-300 on the route with 12 business class seats and 125 economy seats.
The Montreal - Los Cabos will be a new seasonal route commencing on December 1, operating once a week on Fridays. Another new seasonal service will be connecting Montreal to La Romana starting December 17, once a week on Sunday.
The airline has increased its capacity from Vancouver International Airport by up to 50% to destinations such as Mexico, Miami, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. Apart from regional expansions, Air Canada is also planning international long-haul expansions by introducing a new codeshare with flydubai, which allows further connections to Air Canada's Toronto - Dubai and Vancouver - Dubai routes
“Air Canada continues implementing its global network strategy and has extended several European routes to year-round including Toulouse, Barcelona, Edinburgh, Lisbon, Rome, Madrid and Copenhagen,” said Mark Galardo, executive VP, revenue and network planning at Air Canada.
“We have optimized our schedule to conveniently connect Europe to popular leisure destinations in Florida and Mexico, enabling customers from Spain, France, Italy, the UK and Denmark to enjoy one-stop travel to sought-after North American vacation destinations this winter.”
