Air Cairo expands capacity in new year

Air Cairo has launched a weekly service from Budapest to Egypt’s Red Sea coast, Hurghada. The airline plans to increase the flights to twice weekly on this route anticipating increased demands from March 29, 2023. The resumption of services in the African market gives Air Cairo an immediate 16% share of weekly seats across all routes in the region.

Balázs Bogáts, Airline Development Director, Budapest Airport, said: “After a three-year hiatus, it’s wonderful to see Air Cairo join us again at Budapest with another link to the popular destination of Hurghada. Our latest partner will offer fantastic opportunities for the ever-growing number of Egyptian tourists visiting us every year while also allowing the many Hungarians travelling to Egypt to experience the stunning Red Sea coast.”

The airlines new route will offer nearly 40,000 one-way seats to Egypt in 2023.

Apart from the above, Air Cairo will also begin operating twice weekly flights between Egypt’s Red Sea resort of Marsa Alam and Prague. With this route, Marsa Alam will become the second destination to which the airline will fly on regular flights from the Czech Republic. It currently offers direct flights from Prague to Hurghada. This new route will commence from March 28, 2022.
