Air Austral has signed a wide-ranging contract for the two Boeing 787 aircraft scheduled to enter its fleet in spring 2016. The agreement includes component support, engineering and Maintenance Control Services (MCS) components, plus light and line maintenance services. AFI KLM E&M will support the airline’s Reunion-based teams locally to bring the two aircraft into service.
Under the terms of the contract, AFI KLM E&M will provide support for the all-composite new-generation aircraft. "Air Austral will benefit from the expertise of staff at our brand-new Hélios engineering facility, opened in 2015 to extend our aero structures and composites capabilities," said Fabrice Defrance, AFI KLM E&M SVP Commercial. "We are delighted to strengthen our long-standing relationship with Air Austral and to demonstrate our 787 capabilities with this multi-dimensional contract."
Pierre Bosse, Chief Operating Officer at Air Austral, added: "With its excellent level of technical punctuality, we were already highly satisfied with the 777 support provided by AFI KLM E&M. So we are quite naturally maintaining our partnership and strengthening it with support for our 787s.
