Air Astana recently took delivery of a new Airbus A321LR adding up the total fleet count of long-range Airbus A321s to ten. The airline has a total of 34 single-aisle Airbus aircraft. The airline will continue to operate the new aircraft on its international routes to destinations like London, Bangkok, Dubai, Istanbul, Frankfurt, Sharm El Sheikh, Antalya, and Phuket in Thailand

Although Air Astana relies mostly on its Airbus fleet, it does have three Boeing 767-300ERs and five Embraer E190s. Besides the airline also has Boeing 787-8s on order with deliveries starting in 2025.

Going ahead, the airline carried over seven million passengers in the first ten months of 2022, a 12% increase over 2021 along with reporting a net profit of $65 million, 84% higher than the same period last year.

Peter Foster, Group President, and CEO of Air Astana said: “This success would not have been possible without the professionalism of its employees and the support of customers. Despite the global and local challenges, we have been able to strengthen our position in both the regional and international markets, creating a base for new achievements. We believe that delivery of advanced aircraft to our fleets, such as the Airbus A321LR and Boeing 787, brings a bright future ahead for Air Astana."

This year Air Astana is celebrating its twentieth anniversary, and in the two decades since its launch, the airline has carried more than 60 million passengers and around 280,000 tonnes of cargo and mail. The airline now operates 42 routes, 27 international and 15 domestic while its low-cost carrier FlyArystan operates on 26 domestic and eight international services.
