The Air Astana Group has announced its financial reports for the nine months ending 30 September 2023, indicating a strong performance with total revenue and other income growth of 20.5% to USD $900.6 million (up from $747.2 million reported in the same period last year).
The flag carrier of Kazakhstan increased its operating profit by 11.2% to $128.9 million, with an adjusted EBITDA also showing 14.4% growth at $249.8 million. This was partly driven by an increased number of flights to what the airline describes as ‘key destinations’ such as the UK, Turkey, India, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Georgia and the Gulf, as well as the reinstatement of flights to China. The Group’s fleet size has grown to 49 aircraft post period.
Air Astana has also commissioned a new flight training centre in the Kazakhstan capital of Astana, to be certified by EASA.
