Air Astana has finalised an order for up to 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The airline had first disclosed commitments in November last year.
At the time, Air Astana said the order will comprises five firm, five options and five purchase rights.
The order for the 787-9s will be the airline's largest single purchase.
“Air Astana is strategically committed to boosting its service capabilities from Central Asia / Caucasus to Asia, Europe and the rest of the world over the next decade, with the arrival of the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner next year marking the start of this exciting phase of development,” said Air Astana CEO Peter Foster in November last year.
In addition to its order with Boeing, the airline signed an agreement with Air Lease for three 787-9s, with deliveries scheduled in 2026/27, bringing its 787 fleet to 18 in total.
The aircraft are expected to be delivered between 2032 and 2035.
The total value of the order and leased aircraft, including engines, is $7bn at list price, according to Air Astana.
