Air Astana expands fleet with new Airbus A321neo

Air Astana has taken delivery of one new Airbus A321neo aircraft, which arrived directly from the manufacturer’s facility in Hamburg, Germany.

The delivery is the sixth A321neo to join the Air Astana Group fleet, which is made up of Air Astana, the Kazakhstan flag carrier, and FlyArystan, a low-cost carrier.

Air Astana’s fleet now comprises 62 Airbus and Boeing aircraft in total, and the airline plans to raise this to 84 aircraft by 2029.

“Despite ongoing challenges in the aviation industry, the airline continues with the steady renewal of its fleet as part of a sustainable growth strategy,” Air Astana Group said in a statement.

The news follows the announcement from earlier this month that Peter Foster, CEO of Air Astana Group, will retire from his position at the end of March 2026.

Foster will also retire from the board of directors of the company, but he will continue to work with the board as a senior advisor.

Ibrahim Canliel, the group’s current CFO, will succeed Foster as CEO at the end of March 2026.
