The African Airlines Association (AFRAA) has signed an agreement with the Terminals Malabo Airport Management (TMAA) to align efforts to enhance airport and airline operations in Africa.
Noting that ‘airlines and airports have an interdependent relationship’ and that ‘a coordinated interaction is key for the air transport industry to survive’, AFRAA has joined with TMAA to develop an eleven-point annual workplan under which activities will be set and progression tracked. These include initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies, the promotion of travel and tourism within the continent, training and capacity building, and environmental objectives.
The MoU was signed by AFRAA secretary general Abdérahmane Berthé and Terminals Group CEO Ahmed Al Hadabi during the Future of Air Transportation Summit in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
