Aerolineas Argentinas has announced plans to develop Cordoba airport as a regional hub. The airline is adding four new routes from the airport: to Buenos Aires Ezeiza daily, and to Iguazu, Salta and Bariloche four-times weekly.
Further expansion has been suggested by Max Campos, Aerolineas’ head of sales and marketing as the airline has recognised “the importance of this Provincial Capital, as the second largest city in Argentina”. Campos said the airline wanted to “contribute to the social and economical development of Argentina.”
Flights to Cordoba from Brazil are expected. “Brazil is quite important in Latin America,” he said, “and is becoming more important worldwide. We are already flying to more destinations in Brazil from Buenos Aires.”
New Embraer-190 aircraft will be used on the new routes upon delivery by the end of the year.
