Australian carrier Alliance has announced a sale and purchase agreement for 30 Embraer E190 aircraft from Irish lessor AerCap.
The aircraft are being leased from new by a US airline, Alliance said, but are to be sent to Australia starting September 2023.
Deliveries will be completed by January 2026, the carrier added, with final purchase price for each aircraft "to be adjusted for the maintenance status of the airframe and the two fitted engines in the week preceding each delivery".
"Accordingly, there is a significant degree of variation in unit cost and a totally firm fleet price is unable to be given at this time," Alliance said, adding the deal will be done one jet at a time by a mix of debt and cash generated through the operation of the company’s Fokker and Embraer 70 fleet.
"This acquisition will provide Alliance with increased capacity, access to major componentry including engines and enhanced operational capability," said Alliance’s managing director, Scott McMillan.
