Aer Lingus is all set to launch a new twice-weekly service between Shannon and Paris by the end of summer. Flights will launch in September and run until January, before resuming from March through October next year.
The airline anticipates that the route will be in huge demand with both leisure and business travellers. The service will launch especially during the upcoming Rugby World Cup - hosted in France from September 8 to October 28 and will add to the sports fan.
Aer Lingus had previously announced it would operate special Rugby World Cup flights between Shannon and Paris CDG, but is now extending the route into next year.
Mary Considine, Chief Executive, The Shannon Airport Group, added: "This new service will be a major boost for Shannon, and we know it will be an extremely popular destination for leisure and business travelers. The service will be timed to allow for passengers traveling from Paris to connect onwards from Shannon to New York JFK and Boston via Aer Lingus."
The airline plans to deploy its fleet of A321LR on the route with 184 passenger capacity including 16 in a full lie-flat business cabin and 168 in economy.
