Aer Lingus is planning to fly between Shannon (SNN) and Paris Charles De Gaulle (CDG) for the rugby World Cup this year. The flights will provide convenient access to rugby fans of West Ireland to travel to Paris in time for the matches. This new route will be operated by its latest Airbus A321LR.

Aer Lingus is the official partner airline of the Irish Rugby Football Association (IRFU).

Ireland has a huge rugby-fan following and the airline is backing on this high demand for the new route. The flights will be operated twice a week, Fridays and Sundays from September 22 and will end once the World Cup is over by October-end.

“Aer Lingus is introducing a new route connecting Shannon to Paris, Charles de Gaulle, France’s primary international airport. With flights operating twice weekly, the new service will commence operations on September 22 and will run until the end of October when the RWC concludes. The addition of this route will boost regional connectivity for the Shannon region further reinforcing the airline’s dedication to offering accessible travel options for passengers to Europe as well as North America with daily transatlantic flights to New York and Boston,” the airline spokesperson revealed recently.

Aer Lingus is one of the IRFU’s main sponsors and flies the Irish Rugby Team to their matches around Europe and North America. Recently the airline had two of its A320s pained in special Irish Rugby livery.
