Aer Lingus systems outage; cancels flights from Dublin

On September 10, Aer Lingus was forced to cancel 51 flights between Dublin and European and UK destinations following a system outage. The Irish carrier was unable to access key systems for check-in, boarding and its website for several hours. Aer Lingus stated that the outage was caused by a break in connectivity in services from a UK network provider.

Aer Lingus operated all of its transatlantic services from Dublin, albeit with delays and reduced passenger numbers in some instances due to security restrictions applying as a result of the systems outage.
