Aer Lingus plans to take delivery of a mix of A350-900s and -900 regionals between 2018 and 2020. CEO Christoph Mueller has confirmed the airline will take nine A350-900s.
The rescheduling is due to its relatively young A330 fleet and the fact that the airline took three 757s on lease for use on services to the US. The airline has not yet decided when or with what these aircraft will be replaced.
Aer Lingus has reported an operating profit for 2013 of €61 million, with total revenue up by 2.3% to €1.4bn. The airline’s long-haul revenue grew by 11% with a 12% increase in passenger numbers. Short haul revenue declined by 3.3% however, with passenger numbers also slightly lower.
